This is your new blog post. Click here and start typing, or drag in elements from the top bar.
If you are going to miss class, you DO NOT have to email or call me! You are all responsible adults, and if you choose or have to miss class, that's totally up to you. The only thing I would need documentation on is if you miss or are going to miss an exam. And then, I have to have an OFFICIAL University approved excuse - a doctor's note, Military orders, or a University related sporting event.
Overall, I'm SUPER happy with the Youtube Assignment. I hope you all liked it more than sitting in class on Friday. It's taking a while to grade, so I will say that the first assignment, and any revisions, are due by the time I post the next YouTube Assignment on Thursday. Please make sure you are checking your email. I know many of you only communicate through Facebook or Twitter, but the official University of Akron gmail is what I'll use to communicate with you. Check it at LEAST once a day, or I guarantee you will miss something. Hi Guys! If you still have clicker questions, or If you need assistance, contact Jamie Newhall (x8290, [email protected] ) or Litsa Varonis (x2541, [email protected] ).
Below is the list of people I have registered, and whether or not they responded in class on 8/29. If your clicker did not show up as responding and you were in class and pushing the little buttons, it's time to call Litza for help!!! Hope you all had a fabulous weekend, that you got some rest (I know I was freaking TIRED after last week), and that you're ready to go! Make sure you've read and understand Chapters 1 + 2 as we work this week. Let me know in the comments if you have any questions.
There are two documents in this post. One is a list of everyone I have registered for the class for the clickers. If you are not registered, here are the instructions to do it http://www.scribd.com/doc/62503606/Getting-Started-Guide-for-Students-Fall-11 The youtube assignment is this - 1. Watch the two videos 2. Take good and thorough notes about the videos. They will have test questions from them on the first exam. 3. Put your notes in a Google document. Your UA email account has Google docs that you can use. To open a Google doc, open your UA email. Go to the upper left hand corner of the screen, click on "documents." Click on "create new," and then the first option is "Document." Click on that. Click on "Untitled Document" and name your document in this format: last name, first name, date, 3100:103:003. Your document MUST have this format. After you write your notes, click on "Share" and then click on share again. Under "Add People" put in my email address [email protected]. Click on Share and Save - and I'll get an email telling me you did it. 4. Don't email it to me in Word. Don't hand-wright it on a piece of notebook paper. It MUST be done in Google Docs. Here's a youtube on how to use Google Docs. Your assignment must be shared with me before class starts 8:50 on Monday 8/29. Late work is not accepted. Make it work! Watch the two videos below. The one on The Scientific Method is about 10 minutes, and the one about Jane Goodall is about a half an hour. Any questions? Leave them in the comments section below!
